Students must be 16 years of age effective the first day of class and possess a valid New York State Learner’s Permit in order to enroll in the Driver’s Education Program. Any student with 3 or more absences (not made up within the week of their absence) in driving and/or lecture will be dropped from the course. All absences must be made up within the same week. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the State Education Department mandate that students complete 24 hours in the classroom and 24 hours behind the wheel in order for a Certificate of Completion (MV-285 formerly Blue Card) to be issued.
